BENEFITING: FACE-TO-FACE PROJECT INC
F2F believes the best way to overcome HIV and poverty is to strengthen the ability of communities to care for their own. Working closely with village chiefs, local leaders, and neighborhood groups, F2F nurtures projects that offer long-lasting, self-sustaining support to vulnerable individuals and their communities in some of the poorest countries in the world.
The F2F Model at Work
At F2F, our guiding principles are profoundly integrated into our projects. Here’s an example of how a simple grant can turn into a sustainable project that educates and empowers participants to improve life for their whole community.
1 You get involved: You decide to give, which is how we fund our programs— for instance, our Kang’oma Youth Group project, in which rural youth become AIDS outreach leaders.
2 Education: F2F introduces ways for people to learn topics relevant to their lives. In the Kang’oma Youth Group, youth learn about HIV and other health issues, as well as how to organize meetings and operate a club.
3 Leadership: We encourage people to become leaders. As the Youth Group takes on community service projects, the members realize they have the ability to improve their village.
4 Outreach: F2F enables people to help others. Our Kang’oma Youth Group holds public forums about HIV, engages in volunteer work, and helps educate young people from nearby villages to form new youth groups.
5 Fundamental change: Communities develop their own sustainable programs. As facilitators of educational programs, the Kang’oma Youth Group takes the lead in transforming their village into a better place for all residents.
F2F relies solely on your generous support to ensure that our projects are successful.
