Mission Statement Faces of Courage Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit cancer patient support organization, dedicated to providing, free of charge, programs emphasizing practical education; life coping strategies; and improved self esteem; through non-threatening, engaging, and recreational outings and overnight camps, including culturally relevant programs for minorities, which encourage a sense of “community” rather than isolation, with a primary goal of helping the cancer patient navigate their way through the treatment process and to thrive as a survivor. For the past 10 years Faces of Courage has hosted over 5,000 individuals touched by all types of cancer and blood disorders. We provide day outings, evening programs and weekend camps for women, children and families touched by cancer and blood disorders like hemophilia and sickle cell. Our weekend camps are traditional in nature the campers get to spend a weekend canoeing, kayaking, fishing, archery, swimming, creating tie dye shirts and assorted art projects all under the watchful eye of dedicated nurses, doctors and volunteers. All our programs are made available at no cost to the campers. 90% of our donations are $100. or less.
