Facts Education Fund is a 501C3 DBA as Fair Chance Project. Fair Chance Project's (FCP) mission is two-fold. FCP represents a movement led by liberated lifers (formerly incarcerated men and women), prisoners and loved ones of prisoners organized around the demand for just sentencing laws and fair parole practices. Additionally, FCP integrates formerly incarcerated men and women back into society enabling them to “give back and to help build strong, self-sustaining communities”

The Fair Chance Project implements and sponsors multiple programs to support people in prison and those navigating re-entry including:

LIFE CHANGERS offers a series of twelve, dynamic, life changing workshops. Men and women who have spent time incarcerated share insight, empathy, respect, community values, skills on how to cope with daily obstacles, and many other issues.

LEGAL CONSULTATION: 

FCP’s offers ONE-ON-ONE Consultations by Appointment.

An attorney or a paralegal can assist with a variety of issues including: Parole Matters, Assist in Preparing Writ Forms, Medical Matters Inquiry, How/Where to Find Resources Inside and Out, What are your Legal Rights in Prison and on Parole?, Prop 47 Eligibility review and assistance.

WALKING the YARD

Fair Chance Member, Charles McCarn matches younger prisoners with older prisoners in a mentor relationship to ensure that mentees are steered away from problems and guided toward doing the right thing to win their release in the future.

End LWOP Campaign

FCP is organizes with loved ones of  people with sentences of Life Without Parole (LWOP) and has formed a group called Families United to End LWOP – FUEL.  Wonderful and spirited mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, sisters, brothers and others are a dedicated group ready to see their loved ones come home and flourish. They are on a determined path to educate and organize.

Collective REMAKE is a unique social enterprise designed to support the creation of worker owned businesses in communities impacted by incarceration. 

A  worker cooperative is a for-profit business that is owned and managed by the people that work there. Workers come together to meet common financial, social and cultural needs for themselves, their community and future generations.
