About the Noah's Ark Dormitory Project
Numerous prominent Upstate (Clemson, Greenville, Greenwood and Spartanburg) businessmen, mostly in the construction industry, have joined forces to build a new thirty-two bed men's domitory, to by named Noah's Ark at the Faith Home's main campus in Greenwood, South Carolina. Doug Harper (Harper Corporation), Bonner York (York Constructors), Neal Workman ( Trehel Corporation) and Lynn Yeargin (Yeargin Potter Shackleford) in conjunction with Jeff Greenway (Elliott Davis, LLC) are serving as the "Steering Committee" of this projected $900,000 facility (at no cost to the Faith Home), including furnishings of $50,000, and an endowment of $100,000 to cover three to four years of operating costs and expenses.
This new 5,820 square foot dormitory will include 14 residence rooms (28 people), 4 staff rooms (4 people), a collaboration room, and two community bathhouses and laundry rooms. Approximately 180 individuals per year will be served by this facility and move toward recovery from their addictions. Most importantly, the opportunity exists to change 180 lives and their families. The goal is that the graduates move back into their society, share their testimony of struggle and freedom from their addiction through Jesus Christ, and once again become productive members of society. Considering the Faith Home's forty-four year history, we expect tens of thousands of lives, and their families to be changed as a result of this new dorm facility.
At Jeff Greenway's request, there will be no reference to him or his Son on the Dorm. Harrison Greenway who successfully completed the Faith Home program in 2011 and had be "clean " for a year before he was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on April 22, 2013. This facility is not about any of the contributing or sponsoring individuals and organizations, it is all about helping those that are less fortunate who are in desperate need of immediate help.
The construction of the Noah's Ark Dormitory was officially completed on August 29, 2014. We are currently in the process of furnishing the dormitory and anticipate moving residents in on or about November 12, 2014.
