I have a long history of being a fake athlete, a lover of writing, and a supporter of The Youth--this event combines all my favorite things. I got involved with 826 Boston as an intern over a year ago, and now I'm their Volunteer Engagement Coordinator. I get to spend every day supporting students throughout Boston Public Schools with creative writing and one-on-one attention, and now there's a way I can spread that joy throughout my social circles.
If you want to support my "athletic career" or my "writing career" or even just my "career", you can register to run yourself, join my team, or just donate. But even if you don't care about me, I hope you care about 826 Boston and the work they do every day to support students. Let's run together, even if it's just 0.826 miles. The cause couldn't be better.
26 miles is a long way to run, which is why there are now half marathons. But 13 miles is still ridiculous. Even 6.5 miles, or 3, or 1.5 is asking a lot.
The Half Half Half Half Half Marathon is reasonable, roughly 0.826 miles. A nice distance to run or walk or amble while supporting youth through 826 Boston.
All proceeds go to 826 Boston's free writing programs. When you register for the run and give $25 or more, you receive a ticket and one free drink!
April 13, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
826 Boston is a nonprofit youth writing and publishing organization that empowers traditionally underserved students ages 6-18 to find their voices, tell their stories, and gain communication skills to succeed in school and in life.
We are thankful to Berman Creative for coproducing this event.
