BENEFITING: The King's College
Dear Family, Friends, and Alumnae,
I hope this letter finds you well. You may know that I am part of a community of 55 women at The King’s College in New York City called the House of Margaret Thatcher. We are centered in our devotion to Christ, building our community through serving our city and our college. I have found my closest friends in the House and had opportunities to serve others because of opportunities arranged by the House -- such as when my Thatcher sisters and I were able to provide business casual clothing to low-income women through Dress for Success last spring.
This year, we’re excited about our new partnership with the International Justice Mission and the opportunity to support their work. We also look forward to serving our school by hosting our annual holiday party, the Red and Green Affair, and welcoming guest speaker Dr. Nile Gardiner, of the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom at the Heritage Foundation, to honor our House namesake’s legacy.
In order to build a community capable of such things, each year, we spend a few days away from the City on retreat, taking time to hear one another’s testimonies, pray, and chart our course for the year as a community. This October, we are excited to create time and space for new students to meet upperclassmen, and for upperclassmen to reconnect with each other as well as invest in the new students, in the beautiful Pennsylvania Poconos. Last year we laughed, cried, and grew closer as a house - and I can’t wait to see how our community grows again this year.
I am reaching out to you for your support, either via donation or through your thoughts and prayers. A donation of $15, $25, $50 or more would help us cover the costs of retreat, as well as the other events we hope to host for the student body this fall.
Thank you so much for your continuing support and encouragement to me and to the House of Margaret Thatcher.
President, House of Thatcher
