Fallen Officer Jason Marles Fundraiser

An Ocean Gate, NJ Police officer named Jason Marles was killed by a drunk driver, 3am on Thanksgiving morning. He was on his way home ironically after getting off of a shift he volunteered for, where he was watching out for intoxicated drivers. He was taken away from his wife and 2 gorgeous children. I had met Jason a couple of times through old friends and though we were only acquaintances, his tragic passing, his story, and the love shown by thousands of people who knew him, have inspired me to help.

I can’t even imagine the way his wife Ginny and their two children feel, and I have sat around and thought of ways that I would be able to help them. And an idea had popped into my head. Recently I have finished a 50-mile ultramarathon in October, my first ultra and I documented that it would def not be my last. Since that race I have looked for ways to push my own limits and go farther than I ever thought I could go. So I have made a decision, I am going to use my legs to raise money for the Marles’ family, and will be running on behalf of Jason Marles’ memory.

Now here is the deal, the race is called “3 Days at the Fair“, and it is being held at the Sussex County Fairgrounds (Augusta, NJ) from May 13th till May 15th. There are 4 races to choose from, a 6 hour, 12 hour, 24 hour or 48 hour non-stop ultra. I have chosen to run the 48 hour race. I will not stop running, or sleep for 48 hours, I pledge that I will run around that .8 of mile track as many times as I can to rack up as many miles as possible in 48 hours. Now here is where YOU come in.

I am asking people from all over to pledge some money for EACH mile completed by me in 48 hours. I plan on running anywhere from 150 to 200 miles total. Therefore, if you pledge 1 dollar per mile that I complete, you are looking at donating between $150-$200. Every cent that I raise will be put into the trust fund set up by Marles’ family’s lawyer. I will be taking verbal pledges at my e-mail at

After I receive your pledge, it will be posted to Jason Marles Fundraiser for everyone to see. Let’s all do something special and help this family out!

I am only asking for VERBAL PLEDGES now. After the race is completed and my mileage is calculated, you will be contacted. I will then give you the information on where to send your check or cash. The checks and cash will never cross my hands. YOU will mail it to the trust which is handled by the Marles’ family lawyer. If you have anymore questions, do not hesitate to write me at Thanks!!!
