"When your child is diagnosed with a hearing loss, there is a moment of uncertainty. But then Clarke comes into your life, and you know that it's all going to be okay."
Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech provides children who are deaf or hard of hearing with the listening, learning, and spoken language skills they need to succeed.
Some of you may or may not remember, but I set out last year to run Falmouth and the NYC Marathon for Clarke. Unfortunately, shortly after Falmouth I ended up on the disabled list.
Well, I'm back to run Falmouth yet again for Clarke as well as to fulfill my physical obligation down in NYC. Yes, I was able to defer my entry until this November. After all the generous donations received, it only seemed right for me to follow through with my end of the deal.
As an update... Cait had an amazing kindergarten year! New school, new friends and not to mention an amazing teacher with great support staff. But let's not forget those who were still there to help when needed, Clarke. With their support, the mainstream transition was very trouble free. That is the reason for this last minute decision to participate yet again.
A special thanks to everyone who supported last year. I only hope with short notice we make a difference once again. And of course, thank you to all those who made Cait's first year one to remember. I appreciate everything you have done.
