Each month, more than 630 victims are turned away because a lack of shelter space in Dallas, TX.*
Across Texas, 39% of requests for emergency shelter after a domestic violence incident go unmet due to a lack of shelter.** For those who can't get into local shelter, what options do they have? The struggle to leave without a place to go means facing homelessness or staying in the violent relationship.
With your contribution, we can keep the wheels rolling for those who need it most.
YOU can help a survivor get to freedom from domestic violence by sponsoring part or all of a ride. Choose your level of support for our cause:
$20 buys lunch & dinner for a traveling survivor during their trip
$50 pays for fuel costs for a car trip inside Texas or to a neighboring state
$100 supports costs for a trip across North Texas to take a survivor to a new home or get shelter
$150 pays for the average cost of a car ride across Texas or into neighboring states
$500 supports a car ride to a far-away state
Help us meet our mission to serve women (and men) who need shelter far away. Contributions made here will get you the following in return for your generosity:
Donate $20 or more - Get a Thank You card signed by a survivor who receives the meal you sponsored
Donate $100 or more - Get a Thank You card signed by a survivor who receives the ride you sponsored, plus free admission to an upcoming fundraiser event
Donate $500 or more - Get the above plus an elegant silver hand-crafted dandelion necklace keepsake for yourself or a loved one in honor of the lives you touched as their sponsor
We also help those in shelter who need the long-term support of family for their recovery and have no easy way to get there. Helping someone leave shelter before their exit date serves twice: the person we ride with, and the next caller who needs that space.
HELP US SERVE THOSE WHO WISH FOR FREEDOM!
Our modest goal of $5,000 will also allow us to begin serving hospital patients seeking shelter after injuries from domestic violence. When local shelter is not available, these patients are released from hospital care often to go home to the abusive partner who hurt them in the first place. We already serve clients from FIVE Dallas area shelters- we want to expand to help the injured. Sponsor their ride to freedom with your contribution right now!
It only takes a moment to donate and you'll feel so good knowing your donation literally moved someone closer to life free of abuse.
On behalf of the clients you are helping get to shelter, THANK YOU!!
