One Step in Front of the Other
June 23, 2016
BENEFITING: FAMILY HOPE FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: FAMILY HOPE FOUNDATION
In the last six years our son James has been honored to receive a couple scholarships through Family Hope Foundation for Therapeutic Listening and Applied Behavior Analysis therapy. A couple years ago, the FHF scholarship for ABA provided about 20% of the out of pocket cost for the large amount of therapy needed for James not covered by insurance. The $1000 given by the FHF scholarship to his selected provider was used to help him make progress with his ADL's, social, behavioral and language needs. Autism is a serious developmental disorder that will effect how he interacts with his environment for the rest of his life. We hope that we can continue to request scholarships through FHF for James therapy that are not covered 100% by our insurance plan. He has many deficits in different skill areas that he needs to function everyday. We have put a hold on the out of pocket costs of ABA therapy and requested help from FHF for more therapy in other areas that can benefit James during his transitions in the summer months. Most therapies make James excited to learn as he successfully absorbs all new information that is presented to him. We hope the Art Van Charity Challenge and the Family Hope Foundation can assist James and other families facing desperate lifelong therapies with scholarships to be able to continue to function in their everyday world. Thank you for rising to the challenge with your donation during this short time period beginning May 18, 2016 for this great cause!
Family Hope Foundation has the chance to win $100,000 if we receive the most donations of all the charities competing before noon EST on June 22.
