Family needs a car
Organized by: Cathy Graham
I have been a single mom for over 21 years. I have raised four sons, two of which are married. My last two live at home, one works a part time job for UPS and the other is in college. We had two cars, one is a 2009 Hyundai Sonia and the other a 1998 Chevy Cavalier. The Cavalier is what my son's use to go to work and college. Last Wednesday, the Cavalier went to the mechanic with what I hope was a simple repair. But we were told that the car's engine is the problem and the cost was not worth fixing it. I have been going to this mechanic for over 20 years and he has never steer me wrong. For a normal family, buying a used car would be a simple thing to do. For our family who lives from paycheck to paycheck, this is not an easy task to do. I went to my bank to see about getting a $5,000 loan to get a used car. The bank informed me that with my present car loan and personal loan for medical, that I would not be able to get another loan at this time. I am a hard working mom and grandmother who has fought my way from homeless and welfare to a good job. I have always help others. I have volunteer from PTO to Little Baseball to Boy Scouts. I have raised my sons, to have this spirit of helping and volunteering in their life. One of my son's is a teacher and the other is in the Army National Guard. So I am reaching out to you to ask for help. This is not easy. Your donation would be greatly appreciated.
