Support Family Assistance Program Runners in the race to stop human trafficking. Our team motto: "We run because they have to" illustrates the sad reality of numerous children from our neighborhoods who are voiceless in their fight against sexual exploitation and abuse. We run to raise awareness that human trafficking is not a problem that only occurs in foreign countries. It is here in our own back yards.
Family Assistance Program employes a team to seek out and assist these children. We find them in the courts. We find them in the streets. It is our goal to provide a safe environment for them to heal from the traumas they have endured.
Please give to help us build a shelter dedicated to providing a safe place for these victims.
Stadium to the Sea. Say just those four words, and runners across the United States will immediately know what you•re referring to: the iconic course of the ASICS LA Marathon, which is set for its 31st edition on February 14, 2016. The ASICS LA Marathon has always been about much more than an invitational race for elite runners over the city’s streets. Since its inception in 1986, it has offered opportunities for involvement for athletic expression at all levels, for giving back to the community and for celebrating the unique nature of the communities all over the Los Angeles region. In 2010, Marathon charities set an all-time record of $2 million in donations. The enormous success led to the creation of the Marathon’s Charity Challenge, which called upon fundraisers to set a new record of $3 million in donations in 2011. Contributions passed the $1 million mark in mid-February 2011, the earliest date ever, and charities ultimately reached the $3 million mark for that year’s race. For the 2012 race, total charity contributions reached $3,023,326 and in 2013 the numbers continued to rise, with all-time high charity participation totaling over 70 charities raising over 3.1 million dollars.
