Thanksgiving & Christmas for a needy family
Organized by: Family Dreams
We are also helping a young girl with Devics disease get to Minnesota to see a specialist on October 2nd.....
From her mother Laura Day...Please help Bailey make it to Mayo. Bailey is my 16 year old daughter. For those who do not know Bailey she was diagnosed 3 years ago with a very rare disease called Devic's. There is no cure and it causes blindness and paralysis. She has had 8 hospital stays this year alone. Bailey is a fighter and has done lots of research. She has discovered a Dr at the Mayo clinic in Minnesota who is working on a cure but in the mean time has many clinical trials that are helping other patients. He doesn't normally see pediatric patients but Bailey wouldn't take no for an answer. So the Dr agreed to see her on October 2nd at 2:30. No donation is to small. Thank you in advance for helping my little girl fight for her life!
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the well being of the residents of Morgan County Indiana. Based in Monrovia, when funds and supplies allow it, we intend to help single mothers, single fathers and families in time of need. Examples: utilities about to be shut off, clothing and food for immediate needs, maybe you need a few dollars for gas to get to a job interview or medical appointments.
We will also from time to time donate to the local humane society. During the holidays we will pick one family at Thanksgiving and one at Christmas who wouldn't normally be able to celebrate the holidays and supply everything they need to have a family holiday. Also, funds depending, we will try every year to give small scholarship to one student from Monrovia High, one from Mooresville High and one from Martinsville High. Most families and students for the holiday program and scholarship will come from being nominated by friends or other family members. When we are ready to pick the families, I will post on how to nominate someone.
Students for scholarship will also fill out an essay on why the should receive a scholarship, at some point I will be going by the schools and dropping off applications for the scholarships.
We are working on a local drop off location where items such as clothing, food, etc.. can be dropped off.
As a newly formed organization it takes funds and donations to get things going, even $5 helps. We do have an "Articles Of Incorporation" on file with the Secretary of State and IRS EIN# 47-1829588 Thank you for taking an interest and your support. If anyone has questions you can email firstname.lastname@example.org
