Family needs help paying Maryland MVA
Organized by: Nancy Kaiser
I am not the type of person who likes to put my personal business out there. But this is stressing me and extremely overwhelming. We are a family of five with 3 kids and we are in financial stress. My husband has been laid off 4 times within the last 5 years. I lost my job when I was pregnant with my daughter.I had placenta acrreta, blood transfusions and almost did not survive. I also have sarcoidosis which there is no cure for and I am blind in one eye and a few years ago I found out I have cardiac sarcoidosis which is very scary to me because this can be deadly...so I had to get an ICD/pacemaker . We ended up losing our home, several cars and now currently renting. My husband was recently laid off back in October and started working temporary again with no benefits. We were getting help from friends who were driving us places, taking my husband to work and us to the grocery store, doctor appointments. I was walking to work since I am a substitute teacher. Our help ended because people could not do it anymore so we sacrificed not paying rent to get a used car which was a lemon so we had to get another car because of the repairs and didn't have the money. I did not want to go on the loan because of a prior MVA bill but I had no choice. So, now we cannot get tags, insurance or really drive the car since MVA will not set up a payment plan with us because I had defaulted before because of lack of funds. We live in an area that is not accessible to public transportation and if my husband cannot get to work he will loose his job which puts us in another situation. Plus because of the sarcoidosis I have different medical appointments that I have to attend and need to follow up. It has already been hard for us, not getting the things the kids need like shoes and clothing. If anyone can please help my family get out of this bind it will be greatly appreciated. I do not know what else to do right now and I am really stepping out on faith right now because that i all I have left at this point.
