Family Network on Disbilities is a network of individuals of all ages who may be at-risk, have disabilities, or have special needs and their families, professionals, and concerned citizens.  The mission of Family Network on Disabilities is to ensure through collaboration that individuals have full access to family-driven support, education, information, resources, and advocacy and to serve families of children with disabilities.

We believe that everyone has intrinsic value and the inherent right to respect, independence, knowledge, freedom of choice, inclusion, quality of life, success, and equality.

Programs:

Parent Education Network (PEN) and Parents of the Panhandle Information Network (POPIN):  Ensuring that parents of children with the full range of disabilities have the training and information they need to prepare their children for not only school, but to be able to lead productive, independent lives to the fullest extent possible.

Parents Educating Parents in the Community (PEP):  Providing information, training, and support to parents of children with disabilities in isolated, rural areas of Florida, including Collier, Hendry, Glades, and Lee Counties.

Transition, Independent Living, Employment & Support (TILES):  Targeting youth and young adults with disabilities, ages 14 to 22, receiving special education and related services.

Family STAR (Support, Training, Awareness, Resources):  Providing information and support to families of children and youth with special health care needs.

The Jan La Belle Scholarship Program:  Providing a financial resource to individuals with disabiliities who desire to pursue their personal and career goals through attendance at a postsecondary institution.

Sharing the Commitment:  Providing information, training and support to educators, parents, and agencies on services and programs for students with disabilities.

DADVOCATES:  Involving fathers in the lives of their children with disabiliites.

Parent to Parent:  Matching trained support parents to parents/family members who are experiencing a time of crisis or are seeking support, resources, and information.
