BENEFITING: City Year
This year 288 young leaders, AmeriCorps members, will give 1,700 hours of service to City Year Los Angeles. Throughout the AmeriCorps members' year of service, they will be supported by friends and family members through the hard work of helping the students who need them most succeed.
This MLK Day, the family and friends of our AmeriCorps members will be joining over 1,000 Angelenos to transform Diego Rivera Learning Complex in South Los Angeles in support of their service.
The projects completed on this day will complement City Year’s work across 25 schools in Los Angeles to create a positive school climate to motivate students to reach their full potential.
City Year is an education-focused, non-profit organization that partners with public schools to help keep students in school and on track to graduate. City Year AmeriCorps members commit a year of full-time service in schools, where they work at tutors, mentors, and role models. For more information, please visit www.cityyear.org/losangeles.
