Dear Family and Friends,
On April 20th, I will be running The Boston Marathon. For years, I have hoped to be part of this historical race; it is a true bucket list event for me.
I ran the NYC marathon last year with the feelings and thoughts of “Boston Strong;” I ran for the changed lives, the emotions that we all felt and the travesty that we witnessed. But I also know that I was running for me, with the hopes of qualifying for Boston and making a dream of mine come true.
Now that I am two weeks away from doing something for myself, I know that this experience and the 26.2 miles that lay ahead of me can be put to a much better use than a good story, some swag and an awesome finisher t-shirt.
This year, I will be running for the Family Reach Foundation, http://www.familyreach.org, a non-profit, national reach organization that helps families with a child or young adult victim of cancer defray the enormous costs associated directly and indirectly with treatment. I am personally aware of the wonderful work done by Family Reach through friends that unfortunately have experienced first-hand the devastating loss of a child due to cancer.
I'll be wearing the foundation’s team shirt to help drive awareness during the race, but I'd also like to ask you to contribute what you can to help Family Reach succeed at its mission: extending financial assistance with everyday expenses (e.g., mortgage payments, utilities, transportation) so that families can focus on treatment and patients on recovery.
Together, through a combination of miles and dollars, we can raise awareness and make a difference. Help me extend the message of “Boston Strong” to those that need it most.

Family Reach Foundation provides a financial lifeline for families fighting cancer. Please help us provide direct and immediate relief to the many families across the country who are being faced with the everyday hardships that a cancer diagnosis so often brings. While these families remain focused on the healthful recovery of their child who is battling cancer, they are often confronted with financial challenges in addition to the physical and emotional demands of keeping their family afloat.
Support our mission to make sure these incredibly determined families aren't dealt with any additional obstacles, on top of caring for their loved one as they endure the long road of fighting cancer together.
Your donation will keep the heat and lights on, keep a roof over their heads and prevent eviction, ensure reliable transportation to receive proper treatment, make sure their kitchen cabinets are full, and so much more.
Join our determined team of Reach Athletes as they push their own limits and reach more families in need of support!
