At first, running the Boston marathon was a personal challenge. However, thanks to an opportunity and an introduction from the Family Reach Foundation, I now have a more inspiring reason to run. I am now running for my new friend, Jevon. He is an incredible 12 year old that is courageously fighting cancer, which is something no 12 year old should have to endure. His goal is to be back in the 6th grade with his friends and my goal is to do everything I can to help him get there. I could not begin to understand what Jevon is going through but I know that he is an amazing kid. He deserves every opportunity to put this challenge behind him and live the carefree life of a 12 year old. Many of us are not faced with these challenges and those that have been understand, there are a number of hurdles that come along with the burdens of cancer. Financial difficulties are certainly one of those hurdles but should never prevent a child from receiving the best care possible. I alone may not be able to make a significant difference for Jevon but I hope to be motivation and inspiration for others to become part of this great cause. I am surrounded by incredible people and we, together, can make a difference in Jevon’s life.
Certainly do not feel obligated but any contribution that you are able to make will be greatly appreciated by the Family Reach team and myself. You will be supporting an incredible cause. Thank you all for your help and support.
