Dad has rare cancer; daugher needs kidney transplant
Organized by: Chelsea Wheeler
When I was 13, I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease and told I need emergency surgery to save my life. While I've been living with disease for many years, it finally caught up to me when I went into kidney failure again and had to have a transplant. Anyone who has had one knows how expensive medications can be. I struggle everyday to make ends meet. Most of the time my Dad and I don't by groceries. We were living with my Mom would had good healthcare and made good money but she kicked us out to be with someone else. I'm tearing up as I write this next part: my Dad was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer that just behind his ear lobe. The Chemo, the medicines, the doctors visits - it's become too much. I HATE being this person. But I need help. I want to take care of my Dad. I want to get him healthy so that I can try to go back to getting myself back on track. It's all too much and I need help. I need to be able to pay for medical supplies- which means we can't afford food. I work 12.5 hour days and commute 2 hours a day. I know that everyone is struggling but I really need help. Please reach out to me if you have questions or anything you can do to help. Thank you so much.
