BENEFITING: YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit
EVENT DATE: Jun 16, 2013
You have an opportunity to be a part of the childhood obesity solution for over 2,200 children.
As a runner, you know the advantages of good health and you have an opportunity to do something about it. In the Plymouth area there are children that don’t have the same opportunity and the YMCA is trying to help them.
We need your help! The Y cannot do this alone. We hope we can count on you to share your passion for health through this project.
As one of the 2,500 runners participating in the 34th Annual Plymouth Father’s Day Run we are asking you to help us help these kids. We’re raising money to help our youth become physically active, healthy adults. YMCA staff will go to 3 schools in the Plymouth, Canton, Northville and Belleville areas to facilitate fun walks, conduct nutrition and fitness programs AND teach the benefit of putting down the video game and becoming physically active. Additionally, these events will help schools raise money to purchase equipment that support healthy lifestyles such as heart rate monitors, pedometers, climbing walls and sports equipment. We need to raise $7,500 to get this project off the ground.
