BENEFITING: Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic
ORGANIZER: Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic
This is my kitty Noir, many of you know of her, though few have met her. She’s still a little shy.
I’ve recently learned that in Larimer County hundreds of healthy, adoptable cats and dogs are euthanized every year. I’ve learned that black cats are less popular and less likely to be adopted.
Shy cats are also more likely to be euthanized. Since they don’t come right up to potential adopters, they’re less likely to get adopted and are “less worth the space”.
And scared, seemingly unfriendly cats rarely get a chance to prove otherwise.
When we found Noir in our backyard, 4 months old and starving, she was all three of these things. In most shelters, her chances would have been bleak.
But at Fort Collins Cat Rescue, an adoption-guarantee shelter she would have been safe.
Since opening in 2006, euthanasia rates in Larimer County are down 74%! That’s largely because in addition to adopting out over 7,100 cats, FCCRSNC has performed over 30,200 spay/neuter surgeries for cats & dogs.
But there’s still more work to do, more cats like Noir that need our help. That’s why I’m asking you to help me to help FCCRSNC win this Challenge.
Please help me to reach my goal of raising $1,000 to help FCCRSNC to win this $50,000 challenge!

Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic (FCCRSNC) has the chance to win $50,000 if we receive the most donations before 10am MDT on October 30th.
Our goal is for every pet to be a wanted pet.
Money raised from this challenge will further our adoption, sterilization and community cat work, allowing us to save more animals!
Since 2006, the shelter has found homes for over 7,100 cats, and the clinic has performed over 30,200 surgeries. Over that same time period, euthanasia rates have fallen 73% for dogs and cats in Larimer County (where FCCSNC is located). We don’t claim to take all the credit, but without a doubt, the existence of FCCRSNC is a significant contributing factor.
We are making a difference! A big one! Won’t you join us to help save more lives?
FCCRSNC is a limited admission, adoption guarantee, nonprofit cat shelter and low-cost sterilization clinic for both dogs and cats. We are dedicated to the well-being of all cats and dogs in our community, with an emphasis on preventing pet overpopulation and the sheltering and placement of surrendered or abandoned cats into loving, permanent homes.
To help further reduce pet overpopulation, FCCRSNC also provides free spay/neuter surgeries for low-income pet owners and a Community Cat Program that traps & spays/neuters feral cats and kittens. In many cases, these animals are even able to be fostered/adopted or rehomed to barn homes!
