BENEFITING: Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic
ORGANIZER: Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic
EVENT: Saving Pets Challenge 2015
We all have our favorite causes and organizations that we contribute and donate to in various ways; time, money, outreach, volunteer work, etc. Many of these organizations are large, international, and well-funded, and many of them are small, local, and operating on a minimal budget. Most of the larger entities are well-known names with a broad reach, such as Panthera, World Wildlife Fund, Nature Conservancy, and the Sierra Club, (some of our favorites), but many of the smaller organizations are not highly visible outside their local communities. These small but important, viable, and valuable organizations rely on the efforts of committed supporters to help generate funding for their many critical projects.
The Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic (FCCRSNC) is one of these small, local, not-for-profit operations that offers an extremely valuable service to the people and their companion animals of northern Colorado. The goal of FCCRSNC is simple; For every pet to be a wanted pet. The vision and mission of FCCRSNC is to help this happen by providing a huge range of services including, but not limited to, rescue operations for abused and abandoned cats, high quality care for homeless, stray, and feral cats, spay and neuter surgery, cat and kitten adoption opportunities, and much more.
But none of that comes cheap! The Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic is presently in the process of a large campaign to raise much needed funds for medicine, materials, equipment, surgical supplies, etc. They are currently partnered with the Michelson Found Animals Foundation in the Saving Pets Challenge 2015, with an opportunity to win $50,000.00 if we receive the most donations before 10am MDT on June 5th! Please see the main pages for the Saving Pets Challenge 2015 and the FCCRSNC for full details and more information. I invite you to become part of this community of caring supporters to further this valuable endeavor.
FCCRSNC shares the following: Money raised from this challenge will further our adoption, sterilization and community cat work, allowing us to save more animals! Since 2006, the shelter has found homes for over 8,400 cats, and the clinic has performed over 33,400 surgeries. Over that same time period, euthanasia rates have fallen 73% for dogs and cats in Larimer County (where FCCSNC is located). We don’t claim to take all the credit, but without a doubt, the existence of FCCRSNC is a significant contributing factor.
FCCRSNC is a limited admission, adoption guarantee, nonprofit cat shelter and low-cost sterilization clinic for both dogs and cats. We are dedicated to the well-being of all cats and dogs in our community, with an emphasis on preventing pet overpopulation and the sheltering and placement of surrendered or abandoned cats into loving, permanent homes.
To help further reduce pet overpopulation, FCCRSNC also provides financial assistance for spay/neuter surgeries for low-income pet owners and a Community Cat Program that traps & spays/neuters feral cats and kittens. In many cases, these animals are even able to be fostered/adopted or rehomed to barn homes!
If we win the Challenge, the prize donation will be set aside in preparation for a new, larger facility where we will not only be able to provide our current services to more animals, but where we will also be able to offer additional programs, including a wider variety of low-cost veterinary services and temporary boarding for low-income pet owners.
We are making a difference! A big one! Won’t you join us to help save more lives?
