BENEFITING: Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic
ORGANIZER: Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic
EVENT: Saving Pets Challenge 2015
Nine years ago I made a life-changing decision. I was volunteering for an animal sanctuary in Northern Colorado and my eyes were opened to the devastating fact that every year thousands of beautiful, sweet animals were being killed in shelters in my community because nobody "wanted" them.
I knew right away that I had found my calling in life, and that I was going to do everything within my power to change this. I founded Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic along with one of my best friends on June 1, 2006.
Since the organization was founded we have done incredible things both within our community and beyond. Over 8,000 "unwanted" cats and kittens have been adopted into loving homes, we have performed almost 35,000 spay/neuter procedures, and we have fed thousands of hungry cats and dogs in an effort to keep them in their homes and out of shelters. We have become leaders in our field by offering programs that actually work, and since our inception the euthanasia rate at our local open admission shelter has decreased by over 70%.
We are visionary, innovative, and incredibly hard-working. However, none of this would be possible if it weren't for the thousands of donors that have not only opened their hearts, but also their checkbooks. The Saving Pets Challenge is a perfect example of how hundreds of people giving a little bit can make a huge difference. Please consider giving something to this Challenge, and help FCCRSNC continue to make a huge difference to the animals and people that need our help.
*If we win the Challenge, the prize donation will be set aside in preparation for a new, larger facility where we will not only be able to provide our current services to more animals, but where we will also be able to offer additional programs, including a wider variety of low-cost veterinary services and temporary boarding for low-income pet owners.*
