We are faced with obstacles everyday of our lives. We hear about them on the news. Read about them on Facebook. And deal with them at school. We are constantly searching for a way to escape them, change them, or ignore them.
Because we have been consistently bombarded with human needs and worldwide catastrophes, we have become desensitized to the idea of truly making a change and the sound of cries for help are drowned out by the busyness of our culture.
When you hear the words “war”, “famine”, “aids”, “human trafficking”, what do you think? How do those words make you feel? -- We all want to make a difference in the world, but in order to change anything, we have to DO something about it.
So here’s what we are going to do in 2015.
Our goal is to have 300 people raise $120 each, totaling at $36,000 in funds that will enable us to feed 1000 kids per week for an entire year and will supply us with the tools to build a feeding center that can last a lifetime.
We’ll even help make it simple for you. All you need to do is pull together 12 people to donate $10. That’s it. You’re asking 12 of your friends to put aside their ticket for one movie or two trips to starbucks, and help us feed one thousand hungry children in Nicaragua.
This is our opportunity to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. We need our generation to continue the race to make a difference in the world around us, change the tide, and transform our culture. The greatest world changers in history have to start somewhere, and the cause for this year… it’s just the beginning.
