Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the western hemisphere behind Haiti and is home to approximately 6 million people who live under impoverished conditions.

48% of Nicaraguans live below the poverty line. 23% of children under the age of 5 suffer from chronic under nutrition. 79.9% of Nicaraguans live on less than $14 a week, which is less than what we might pay for something like dinner and a movie.

THE PROJECT
We have a long-standing relationship with Voice of Hope, a charitable organization based in Leon, Nicaragua. We go as a each year to help them and get to know the people of Nicaragua.

Our goal is to have 300 students raise $120 each, totaling $36,000 in funds that will enable us to feed 1000 kids per week for an entire year. This will also supply us with the tools we need to build a feeding center in Nicaragua that will last a lifetime.
