BENEFITING: Whiskers and Tails Rescue Foundation
In Celebration of National Feral Cat Day, WTRF will be holding a Feral Cat Shelter Building event on Saturday, October 15th from 9am until 1pm at the Chicago Community ToolBank. It's going to be a brutal winter and it's up to us to make sure the cats in Chicago are kept warm and safe so that they don't have to be forced to face the elements. The cats that live on the streets in our neighborhoods, are IN FACT a part of OUR community. They are one of us and we need to help take care of them. We are trying to raise the much needed funds to build these shelters. The storage bin totes are extremely expensive and to make a total of 50 of them its going to cost about $800.00 . Because we don't believe in cutting corners and we believe in doing what is best for the cats, we use the double bin tote method. The outer bin is a 30-32 gallon tote that is than lined with 4 inch fiberglass insulation. We then insert a 10 or 14 gallon bin inside of that. Inside the 10/14 gallon bin we place straw as another insulation provider. The double bins keep these cats nice and warm and helps prevent frostbite and death. Please make a donation so we can reach our goal of making 50 feral cat shelters. This winter is supposed to be one of the worst yet. Please help us keep them from suffering this winter. These bins are durable and will last through the years. We thank you and the Community Cats thank you!
