THE STORY:

Development Makes a Difference Campaign.

FIC is partnering with Institution Novo Rumo, who cares for children with mental disabilities, particularly Down syndrome patients, in the age group of 0-7 years. They operate from various points in the metropolitan area of Recife and various other municipalities of the state.

Novo Rumo offers a ludic space of continuous sensory stimulation in all its rooms, conducted by its 15 volunteer professionals from the fields of medicine, nursing, nutrition, psychology, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, dance and capoeira.

Novo Rumo was founded by a Geneticist, Dr. Paula Arruda, who is currently the Executive Director of the Program.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 for Novo Rumo to establish a scholarship fund for their students that need their services but simply cannot afford the cost. With your help, Novo Rumo can expand their services and reach the children that need them the most. Development makes a difference for these children, without these fundamental exercises and professional care these children will forever live a harder life. With a simple gift of $40, $70, $100 or $200  you are making a difference. You have the power to give a child and their family a gift that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Please help and support the wonderful work that Novo Rumo is achieving. Please donate today! Every person who donates will receive a special thank you card from one of the children of Novo Rumo, together with a sticker from the Institution!  Just make sure to send us an email to: rmurray@faithinchildren.org with your address! Thank you very much!

Acknowledgements:

Besides selecting our new charity for this year, we in turn have been generously supported by Hendrick High School’s World Language Club. These young adults have named Faith in Children as their charity of the year and donated all of their proceeds from activities to our organization, thank you again students!

We would also like to thank Karini Machado Agostini and Patricia Bentes Gamsie for representing Faith in Children in the ING New York City Marathon! Thank you Ladies for all of your support and hard work!
