We first were gifted with this big guy back in 2012. My in-laws purchased a townhouse and he would come to the house daily. At first we were confused why he, who was about 2 years old at time (we guessed) would be so intent on visiting the house. He had a collar so certainly he lived with someone in the area. One day shortly after all this started happening we were out front of the house and the neighbor told us that he actually lived at our address... We didn't believe it at first but the neighbour called him by name, Felix and he instantly came over. The old owners moved out and left him... Well it was decided. We've been leaving him dishes of food and water so now we'll take him in and wait to see if the old owners come back for him. I mean, we owed the old owners the benefit of the doubt. However the the days turned to weeks and we knew they weren't coming back. He definitely has a big personality, loves to be outdoors. Loves to 'talk', which in fact is why we eventually changed his named to Meow-Meow. or Meow for short. As I said very friendly, goes up to the neighbourhood kids who adore him, greets us as we pull in the driveway. Simply a playful and a loveable Tabby. We've had him for the past four years now and he's always been in good health however last week we noticed an extreme change in his behaviour. He became lethargic didn't want to eat or drink anything. We tried syringe feeding him food and drink but could not keep anything down. His personality gone overnight. As we held him and pet him while fearing the worst, his tail was still wagging so we knew he felt he was still fighting whatever this was. We took him to the Vet and we're told his kidneys were blocked and he became Jaundice so they have to put him on an IV and catheter to release the blockage. As well as stay overnight for at least a week. Prognosis wasn't fully positive but at least he was getting help. Unfortunately though we were told all this wouldn't be cheap. Approximately $3000.00 now at the moment of course the money didn’t matter but as reality is setting in, it's a big sum of money. I’ve heard of GoFundMe many times and wasn’t sure if it was appropriate but since doing my research I know Meow-Meow could be helped by the public as well. Meow-Meow is a wonderful spirit and we've been happy to be his ‘new' owners for many years. We just hope his story is enough for you to want to fight for him as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you sincerely for your time Joey
