Fighting the Good Fight
Organized by: Joi Usher
It is soul-destroying when no matter how hard you work, you simply don’t make enough money to survive. I am a mother who is living with stage 3 Breast cancer and it is incredibly frustrating and discouraging to know that I can't take off time from work to have the much needed surgical procedures that I need because I simply don’t make enough money to survive. My daughter was also recently in a car accident and unable to care for herself. She lost her job and was unable to visit a doctor and did not qualify for any benefits. I've been caring for her as well as myself. It is a sickening feeling when you’re just barely hanging in there and unable to properly care for yourself and your child. I am not an irresponsible person and want to be able to have the surgical procedure, endure the 12 week recovery and be able to pay my bills not worrying if we will be evicted and hungry as I recover. Any help is a blessing thank you for your generosity.
