Fighting For Mommy
Organized by: Danielle Bean
My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in April of 2013. She was approved for Medicaid and she started her treatments. They said she needed to do at least ten radiations to determine if it was working or not. Around the seventh or eighth radiation Medicaid revoked their services. They said my mom made too much with her part time job ($700 a month is basically only rent). So my mom never made it to her tenth radiation. Now she can really feel the toll of her cancer. She's getting very weak and it scares me. She's always throwing up and sometimes it's just blood. My grandfather and I both have told her to keep going to radiations no matter if we do have to pay for it in the end, but she's being stubborn. She doesn't want something bad to happen to her and my grandfather to be left with the bills.
My grandfather and I have told her it's not about the money. We just want to see my mom get better. Who wants to lose their mom at 18? I'm going to college soon and I'm afraid this will be my last summer with her. I think if I can raise some money my mom will see that there is hope and she'll start going to radiations. I just want to be able to keep my mom alive. I want her to see my children and watch me walk down the aisle. Please help me in my Fight for Mommy. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
