EVENT DATE: Nov 22, 2014
This year’s FIJI Rivalry run between the Mu Chapter at UW-Madison and the Mu Deuteron Chapter at the University of Iowa will be taking place from November 21-23. The Rivalry Run is a philanthropy event for the American Red Cross in which the brothers at the two chapters work together in the spirit of the deeply rooted rivalry between the two universities to raise money and run a football a total of 175 miles nonstop from the away team’s city to the home team’s city. This year, we will switch off carrying the football every mile to the meeting place in Dubuque, IA where the Iowa chapter will take over and finish the run. Last year we raised over $9,000 to benefit the Red Cross, and our goal this year is to raise over $10,000 mark.
Each year the American Red Cross immediately responds to about 70,000 natural and man-made disasters in the U.S., ranging from fires to hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hazardous materials spills, transportation accidents and explosions. People count on the Red Cross to help them in their darkest hour. In turn, the support of donors makes it possible for the Red Cross to fulfill its humanitarian mission. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations who invest in the Red Cross. The Red Cross provides preparedness classes, health and safety training, disaster response and nearly 45% of the nation’s blood supply. Even the smallest contributions can go a long way! If you are unable to contribute monetarily, we encourage you to help us spread the word. Please consider mentioning our cause to friends, family and coworkers. Donating is easy and can be done online at FIJIRun.com.
We would appreciate any assistance or contribution in reaching our goals for this year’s run. If you have any questions, please contact the FIJI Rivalry Run Chairmen at FIJIRivalryRun@gmail.com. With your help we can reach our goal and strive to make a difference in lives of many in the name of the American Red Cross.
Thank you so much for your help, and on, Wisconsin,
