BENEFITING: FILM BIZ RECYCLING INC
Film Biz is a place that the film industry, television, theatre and commercial worlds can bring anything from office supplies, props, set
dressing, wardrobe, equipment or appliances and know that they will be either donated to a charity or repurposed. Film Biz Recycling
redistributes 60% of the materials to charities and local organizations. Film Biz also sustains a prop shop that will rent or sell items so
that as much as possible is repurposed (by the way, anyone can go shopping and you many just find something useful or unexpected to love). Film Biz holds
workshops and has a gallery for artists whose work revolves around reuse and an in house sewing center (how about a dress made from a shower
curtain and table cloths - sounds weird, looks adorable). I am having a fund raising drive and I wanted to reach out to you and ask if you would make a donation,
I promise your money will be put to good use. Take a look at the Film Biz website:
Here is a sample of what has been accomplished:
Charities and local organizations that receive materials -
CAMBA Park Slope Women's Shelter, Materials for the Arts, Sean Casey Animal Center (they rescue animals from homes, shelters and zoos), Chips (12 month
residency program to help mothers become self-sufficient), Recyle-A-Bicycle, Gowanus Canal Conservancy, Blissful Bedrooms (transforms bedrooms for
individuals with limited resources and physical disabilities), Hour Children, Room To Grow and Fertile Ground Camp for kids.
