Financial Aid For Teachers
Organized by: Steven TheTeacher
Quality education, once the backbone of society, seems to be falling by the way-side in far too many developed countries. Not only that, but there are plenty of under-developed countries which are experiencing daily problems in the field of education. Recent surveys reveal that many experienced teachers are considering leaving the profession they love to seek higher paying jobs so that they can put their own families first. Obviously this will have a detrimental effect on the next generation of students. Also the next batch of teachers will be worse than before as the current students watch their favorite teachers leave and they begin to consider going into fields other than education when they reach university. It could create a horrendous cycle of bad teachers creating bad students. What is the solution? I'm not arrogant enough to say that I have the answer, but as a qualified teacher myself, I feel that if qualified, inspirational teachers were receiving a salary which accurately reflected the amount of time, hard work, long nights and emotional rollercoasters that are involved with the profession then more teachers would be willing to stay. Until that time comes, then hopefully there will be Financial Aid For Teachers. My plan is not so complicated. Using your donations my we intend to create a system, using social networking, whereby current teachers who are in need of financial help can receive small loans and donations from our group. As teachers we have a great understanding of what is needed most. Most of the money currently donated to schools gets used in ways that are not fully beneficial to the majority of the students (i.e. creating additional seats at the stadium instead of building a science lab). The money you donate will not be used in such a frivolous way because the money will go directly to teachers who join the group and seek our help. For these types of school or classroom related projects we will make donations to the teachers we feel will use the money wisely and efficiently. However, we understand that sometimes unforeseen setbacks can occur and so we intend to help those teachers who are in need personally of a little extra money. For these problems we will only give loans in which the teacher gives the money back to our crowd-funding campaign, not to us. The idea is that any teacher who receives a donation or loan from our group will eventually replace some of that money by giving back to the campaign thereby we can create a constant flow of money strictly for donations to other deserving teachers all over the world! I know this sounds a bit naïve, but we still have a bit of faith in humanity that those who truly can help those in need will help those in need.
