BENEFITING: NEW JERSEY COUNCIL FOR ECONOMIC EDUCATION
The Current State
The gap between what people know about economics and personal finance, and what they need to know, is widening every day. We are responsible for our financial future but an alarming number of us lack basic economic awareness.
More than 1 in 6 students don't reach the baseline level of proficiency in financial literacy. Fewer than 20% of teachers feel competent to teach personal finance topics.
The New Jersey Council for Economic Education has the programs to bridge this gap. Through our unique approach of teaching the teachers, we deliver the fourth "R"- a "real-world" understanding of economics and personal finance to students from kindergarten to high school. We provide professional development workshops, teaching resources and assessment tools at no cost to educators. More confident teachers produce more competent students year after year.
Our goal in this challenge is to raise $20,000 to expand our reach into every school district in New Jersey.
Your donation will help us achieve our goal. Thank you!
