ATTENTION: THIS IS A CALL FOR HELP
This is a school built out of soda bottles in Jiquilillo, Nicaragua. The playground you see was shipped from Canada, a donation. The concrete court was hand-mixed and poured by volunteers.
It is intended to be a school for grades 7+, with trade and professional study programs being a focus for this more isolated fishing community. Marine mechanics, electrical work, vehicle repair, hospitality + tourism training - whatever we can envision and manifest for these people to learn. Let me tell you, they are hungry to!
The closest secondary school is a few towns over... on a dirt/gravel road that sedans have trouble passing. Many only make it through grade 6 for that reason. So it's a blessing that this is construction happened, but it is also a story without its happy ending, YET.
The school has been sitting for more than one year, as they are still short the funding to furnish, hire teachers, and open the facility. When it opens, this school will educate about 70-90 kids at a time. I don't have the 15k they need to change 70+ lives instantly, but I feel like together we do.
If you want to help, please share or donate! Let's open that school!
