BENEFITING: FIRST STAGE
EVENT DATE: Apr 21, 2012
THE STORY:
The First Stage Bard-o-Thon will take place Saturday, April 21st at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center - 325 W Walnut St, Milwaukee WI 53212.
At the First Stage Bard-o-thon, students will perform as many memorized Shakespearean monologues in a row as possible. Performers will include the Young Company, First Stage Theater Academy's advanced, pre-professional actor training program for high school students as well as other members of the Theater Academy.
First Stage students will be collecting sponsorships or pledges based on the number of monologues they will be performing, and many students hope to perform at least ten consecutive monologues, which is nearly the equivalent of an entire Shakespeare play! Well, maybe not, but it's still very impressive. Monologues will be peformed at the MIlwaukee Youth Arts Center from 1-5 with a showcase of the day's monologues at 6 pm. The public is welcome to come and watch at any time!
To sponsor an Academy student in the Bard-o-thon simply go to his/her team member page and make a donation! Each student will receive credit for the donations he/she collects and will have a chance to win some great prizes!
