I Can't Is Not In My Vocabulary!
I Take Risks!
I Conquer My Fears!
I Am Not Afraid to Lead!
This is the First Stage Theater Academy cheer, and they are words I strive to live by on a daily basis – at work and at play. As many of my friends know, I’ve recently developed a passion for Obstacle Course Racing – specifically the Spartan Races. I believe in their philosophy of getting people off the couch and into action. I also love the fact that as a race progresses you have no idea what you will encounter next, you deal with each step, each obstacle in the moment and find a way to conquer all the little battles along the way. So I’ve decided to combine my two passions and to take on the challenge of pursuing my Spartan Trifecta while raising money for First Stage - a non-profit professional theater for young audiences committed to transforming lives through theater. I've already completed the Vermont Beast and the Chicago Super. All that remains is the Miller Park Sprint on Nov. 1. Support my efforts by donating or joining the First Stage Spartan team for the Miller Park Spartan Sprint on Nov. 1. Or make your own fitness pledge and commit to getting off the couch and into action (20 Burpees a day for 20 days, start walking or running, join a gym, etc) or pledge to take on your first Spartan race some time in the future and invite me o join you – and then get to work training and fundraising for this worthy cause! As a member of the First Stage Spartan Team you are committed to TAKING A RISK and CONQUERING YOUR FEARS because I CAN'T IS NOT IN OUR VOCABULARY! Funds raised by the team will go toward financial assistance for those young people who wish to take Academy classes building "life skills through stage skills." Please help us make a difference and help us inspire young people to know that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and commit to the effort required. Aroo! Aroo! Aroo!
