Through education, empowerment, and support First Step staff strives to assist survivors of domestic violence in breaking the cycle of violence. We help survivors build their self-esteem, create new support systems and access available resources. Through the services offered at First Step as well as through other community agencies we assist survivors in becoming financially and emotionally independent of their abusive partners. First Step believes that each step a survivor takes away from an abusive relationship is a step towards independence, safety and stability. We strive to help make this a reality for the survivors we serve.
