BENEFITING: National Network to End Domestic Violence
Domestic violence affects one in four women in her lifetime - that's more victims than breast cancer, ovarian cancer and lung cancer combined. Most people think only of physical abuse when they consider domestic violence. Yet the number one reason victims stay or return to an abusive relationship is that they don't have the financial resources to break free.
Thousands of women are finding hope through Allstate Foundation Purple Purse. A purse represents the center of a woman's financial domain and purple is the color of domestic violence. By making it fashionable to talk about the issue, we'll be able to help victims gain control of their purse strings and their lives.
