I taught myself to ride a bike at age 17 on a grassy field in Sonoma County. Riding through the streets of New York City is now one of my favorite activities - it's both fun and functional. Not owning a car and commuting on my bicycle is one of the best things about living in the city.
On May 5, I'm participating in the Five Boro Bike Tour, which is a 40-mile ride through New York City's five boroughs. I'll finally get to fulfill my goal of cycling New York City's streets without the hassles and hazards of vehicular traffic.
I'm riding with The Nature Conservancy's "Team Nature." They require each cyclist to raise $1,000 to help the organization. I'm seeking donations to support both The Nature Conservancy's work and my goal. Any amount you can contribute is greatly appreciated.
