Fix a badly scratched, family heirloom piano
Organized by: Sruli Broocker
On December 12, 2015, my band and I were invited to play a Chanuka party at the Weinstein's home in Pittsburgh, PA. In the hustle and bustle of getting our equipment set up, I was instructed to put my amplifier on top of the Weinstein's beautiful, black laquor piano. Not even thinking, I set my amplifier down and slid it into position. At the end of the night, I slid it right off of the piano, and noticed the scratching sound. Unfortunately, my amplifier left a groove in the black laquor that will need an entire refinishing job to fix. I do have home-owners insurance and submitted the claim, but was denied because it was not done as an individual breaking something in an individual's home, but as a professional playing an event. They therefore will not be picking up the tab to get it repaired. I thought maybe we could get some help covering that tab.
