BENEFITING: A HOME FUR NOW RESCUE INC
Due to the difficulty many were having in navigating this fundraiser for Ty & becoming aware that the site imposed a minimum $10 donation requirement, we have created a new donation link for Ty's board & rehab costs:
Fixing Ty is a story which began months ago...
Ty's journey down the path toward rehabilitation has proven to be and continues to be a long and costly one. We are urgently in need of funds to ensure that Ty receives the help that he so desperately needs. Please help us in providing this opportunity for him by donating towards his rehabilitation.
Many of you will remember Ty. For those that are not familiar with his story, Ty came to us in October 2013 shortly after being surrendered to our local animal shelter. From day one, it was clear that Ty was a very special boy who appeared to be carrying the weight of the world with him resulting in some behavioral issues. After spending one year in a foster home, consultations with several behaviorists/trainers, veterinary workups & one failed adoption, it was clear that Ty needed professional help on a much higher level. This was only Part 1 of Ty's journey towards rehabilitation. After spending 4 months in a board and train program, Ty was to return to his original foster home with the intent of being adopted by his foster family. He was said to happy and whole....he was fixed!!! Sadly, in a short amount of time, Ty began reverting back to old behaviors and the guidance and advice sought from his previous trainer was either non-helpful or non-existent. It became painfully apparent that as much love as Ty's foster family had for her him, they were just not the right home for him and the time & money spent previously on his rehab was for naught. We were not and will not give up which now brings us to Part 2 of Ty's journey. Ty has entered a different rehabilitation program wherein one short week we have learned the sad truth behind Ty's behaviors. It is not at all what was relayed to us previously...not dominance nor aggressive tendencies, nor lack of wanting to be a loyal, faithful, loving pet. It is strictly fear!! Ty carries with him an intense amount of uncertainty, insecurity & FEAR....fear of other dogs, fear of being hurt, fear of being abandoned. Fear that has not been addressed properly and even heightened previously. We will not let Ty down and want nothing more than to see him put that fear aside and spend the rest of his life without worry or sadness. It is Ty's time to shine and with your help, shine he will, fur now until furever....
