Saving Cats Challenge
FixNation is committed to helping homeless cats. For the past decade, we’ve provided free and low-cost spay/neuter services for community cats and companion cats, part of our mission to humanely reduce the number of feral cats in Los Angeles. To date, we have fixed more than 130,000 cats fixed through our one-of-a-kind programs, yet local shelters are still filled to capacity with cats and kittens. We asked ourselves, “Is there anything more we can do? How can we help to save more lives?”
The answer soon came from a friend and animal welfare partner at the Santa Fe Humane Society. They wanted cats! FixNation had access to plenty of adoptable cats, if we could only find a way to move them from LA’s overcrowded shelters to happy homes in Santa Fe. And so the Cat-A-Van Transport Program was born.
Our first transport took place this past February, with three more to follow. So far our dedicated team has whisked nearly 150 cats to safety and loving forever homes through this program, and we want to do more! We currently transport the cats with a rented van, but a new van designed especially for this purpose will help us save more cats and at a lower cost.
Please help us purchase a dedicated transport van to save more cats! We’ve already raised a substantial portion of the costs. Now we need your help to make the dream a reality.
Van cost: $54,000.00 (Already raised!)
Conversion cost: $34,320.00 (We need your help!)
