Flanagan Dog Rescue
Organized by: Gracie Flanagan
Hello! I'm Gracie! I am currently a grad student getting my Masters in Special Education at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. However; it is my black lab, Beau who can be credited with the creation of the crowdfunding and (hopefully) Non-Profits success! He has stolen my heart and made me realize that there can never be enough recourses for the safety and security of dogs. I have found that nearly all posts on social media where owners are attempting to find homes for dogs are simply ridiculed, harassed, deleted, scrutinized, criticized, and judged. This group has one sole aim- to provide a safe, non-judgemental, and caring resource for those who have to give up their beloved pets. It is not our job, nor should it be, to judge the situations of the owners who are having to do so. Our aim is to find loving homes in a timely and secure way for owners in order to prevent the dogs having to be left at shelters or pounds. This group will be strictly monitored. There is zero tolerance for any type of harassment, vulgarity, scamming, or inappropriate content. As I have no doubt led a very blessed life and have been able to acquire a bit of disposable income I have already invested into some supplies, I am a college student and therefore do not have the income or resources to simply pay out of pocket. That's why I am asking for your help in starting up Flanagan Dog Rescue as a Non-Profit. Where would donations go? I'll tell you! 1. Obtaining a 501c3 Non Profit Status ($400 application fee- along with CPA fees of potentially $1,000) 2. Helping establish an "Emergency Medical Fund" - providing immediate medical treatment for dogs who are in life -threatening situations. 3. Transportation Equipment- crates/carriers/bedding/leashes/collars/gas. We hope to transport animals to foster families and rescue groups in a timely and safe manner. 4. Basic/Initial Vet Visit (update vaccinations, heartworm medication, flea & tick, etc). 5. Food/Toys/Misc. Items We are realistic in that we will have to begin this process carefully and slowly. It will take time to establish ourselves as a reputable source- but we are okay with that! It is all about the well being of the dogs! If we can help change one life, we will call it a success! But we would love to save them all if we can! We take pride in knowing that we are safely saving dogs in the Raleigh, NC area. As we (hopefully, fingers crossed!!) gain momentum - we will continuous update you of our progress and success stories!
