BENEFITING: Everglades Foundation
Recently, due to the cutback in government spending, funding for the Everglades Restoration project has been jeopardized. $50 Million is state funds has been earmarked as well as billions from the federal government but little process has been achieved.
Being a native South Floridian, I've grown attached to this majestic area of subtropical wetlands and the creatures that inhabit the area. Without the proper funding, the park could close, hundreds of individuals could lose their jobs, and this natural wonder could disintegrate and lose its magic.
I would love to raise a significant amount of money for this project, but honestly, I think it is more important to raise awareness.....use our voices together and cause a ruckus. Ignorance is not bliss. We must fight for what is right and I know to let the Everglades go like a thief in the night without attention is wrong.
