Sydney Gad wrote -About 2 years ago, I heard my parents talking about a little girl names Gabriella that was diagnosed with DIPG. (Brain Cancer). The doctor told Gabriella that her tumor was the size of a walnut. Her parents had Gabriella smash walnuts to visualize beating her cancer. A Foundation was set up for childhood brain cancer research called Smashing Walnuts. During her short life, Gabriella fought to educate people on brain cancer and urged to better funding/ research. My passion is tumbling and I wanted to do something I love to help make a difference. I want Gabriella to know I WAS LISTENING and I WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. On October 18, 2015 at the Florida State Fairgrounds, STARS ATHLETICS will be hosting Flip for a cure during the Mid Florida Throwdown Cheer Competition. I will be taking either Flat donations for 15 minutes of flips to Smashing Walnuts or a donation per flip. ( example $1, $5, etc.. per flip in 15 minutes.) If you can flip, than with supervision, Join the challenge and start getting your donations for Smashing Walnuts.
