Florentina's leukemia's treatment
Organized by: Elena Gavrila
Gavrila Florentina is a 25 years old girl from Constanta, Romania, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She’s a very ambitious, optimistic and strong person. My name is Gavrila Elena, and I’m Florentina’s sister. She is the strongest person I know, at the age of only 19 years old she left her natal country, Romania, and went in Italy to work and to build a better life for herself. Florentina started from zero, she arrived in Italy with maybe 50 euro, but that only encouraged her to work harder. Slowly she thrived, she made new friends, enjoyed her job, it seems like it was the perfect life, until she started to feel bad. She says: "It happened last year, I started felling worse, without force, lack of concentration and I was sleeping a lot, eventually I passed out. I started doing all my blood tests until I discovered the bitter truth on January 21, 2016, acute leukemia.” My sister is always talking about her future, she is not giving up, she actually has a life plan: “I had big plans for my life, I wanted a family with two kids, my business in international marketing, I was always a girl who took everything in her hands, a decided one, convinced of what I want in life.” Now, as the cancer evolves, she realized what is the most important thing in life, as she says: “I fought and worked all my life for what I wanted and I always won everything so far ... then I realized that "everything" is actually nothing!” We need financial support so that Florentina could go to a clinic in Italy and get better. This illness is terrifying, but together we can save Florentina. Her wish is “to live and hug my family and friends !!! "
