A word from Mrs Lewis

Hey everyone - Mrs Lewis says "Thank you to all my kids who are 40 and above. You are making me cry. Love you all". She also wants us to know See More

THE STORY:

91-year-old Flossie Lewis is a former English teacher who now lives at the Piedmont Gardens Senior Living Community in the Bay Area. In her spare time, Lewis writes 'light verse' for her local newspaper. She offers her #BriefButSpectacular take on what it feels like to grow old. https://www.facebook.com/newshour/videos/10154180279098675/?fref=nf

This fundraiser was set up by some of her former students from the Lowell High Class of 1982 as a small way to honor this great teacher.  Mrs. Lewis has recently told us that she wants for nothing and would like us to channel our generosity towards some organizations that are significant to her.

At Mrs. Lewis request gifts collected from this fundraiser will be donated to Planned Parenthood, Kehilla Community Synagogue and Doctors Without Borders - you may also donate directly to any of these organizations in her honor.

Little did I realize back in high school what an enduring impact you would have on my growth as a person and a writer. Thank you, Mrs Lewis, for continuing to share your wisdom. You are truly one of a kind, and I am so grateful to have crossed your path. 2 years ago
