FlyfishinginMaine.com was founded over 15 years ago as a college project by Dan Tarkinson. Since then the site has grown to over 2000 members and have helped restore rivers, protect the fish that live in them and served the people that use them. We have raised thousands of dollars that we have turned over to the Maine fly-fishing community through our Grassroots Grant program. This program provides monetary grants to individuals or organizations whose values mirror ours. Past winners include Casting For Recovery, a national breast cancer survival program that uses fly-fishing for physical and emotional therapy, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, the Save the Rapid River Program, Trout Unlimited Trout Camp, a fly-fishing program that exposes the sport of fly-fishing to Maine's youth and many other great organizations. We can't do these things without the support of our members and the general community at large. We invite you to visit our site, participate on our forum (there's no membership fee) and engage with our virtual community. Your donations to FlyfishinginMaine.org are much appreciated and 100% of funds raised go back into our community. So if you live in Maine, vacation in Maine or value beautiful natural resources like the Brook trout and the rivers in which they live please consider a donation. Thanks and tight lines.
