Inspired by the famous Young Eagles program, funds are to start young people who do not have the financial means themselves, a way to discover the magic of flight and to set them on their way to becoming future pilots.
The North Shore Aero Club is a non-for-profit organisation founded in 1963 and run by volunteers. We own our own airfield, our own hangers and our own aircraft and have minimal borrowing, so all funds are used to promote flying training.
The club is run frugally by unpaid but imaginative professional people with the sole intention of doing the right thing and providing opportunities to get people flying.
We are focussing here on young people who could only dream of flying and giving the opportunity to both feel the reality of that dream and where funds exist, to actually go on to become pilots.
